If You Are What You Eat, Then You Are Where You Live, Too

I don't think anyone would disagree that "you are what you eat". The nutrients (or lack of) that you intake throughout your day nourish (or don't) your physical body. But I do believe that "you also are where you live"…Let me explain.

I am currently reading my umpteenth book on vibrational medicine¹. This one is by Carolyn Myss, PhD, a medical intuitive, called Anatomy of the Spirit. She says:

"you can be a vegetarian and run six miles a day, but if you are in an abusive relationship, or hate your job, or have daily fights with your parents, you are losing energy – or power – in a pattern of behavior that can lead to illness or prevent your healing from an illness. On the other hand, if you are spiritually centered and call back your energy from negative beliefs, you can eat cat food and still stay healthy."

(Of course, she goes on to say that she doesn't advocate eating poorly and not exercising, but she was proving a point about the importance of our spiritual connection.)

This made me pause and consider. Yes, nutrition and exercise is important to our health, and what is also behind our motivations and actions is as well – our thoughts.

But if you also are living in an environment of chaos, stagnation, and poor feng shui, you are also contributing to low vibrations in your body/mind/spirit.

In my work in feng shui, I do believe that our environments are a mirror of our inner emotional and spiritual health, therefore, our spiritual "centeredness". Many do believe, as I, that our environments can either nourish our souls or deprive them. We can either receive power and support from our homes or we can be drained of our power and stressed.

So, I'd like to add to Carolyn Myss' statement above, that if you are living (or working!) in an environment that is chaotic or stagnant, and otherwise, poor feng shui, you are also losing your energy, your power, and keeping yourself in a pattern of behavior that can lead to illness or prevent you from healing.

So, "we are where we live!"

Feng shui can be considered another form of vibrational medicine, as Nancy Santo Pietro discusses in Feng Shui and Health: The Anatomy of Home.  I am usually called when my clients are in distress of some sort.  Some have concerns with money, family or their careers. Others have minor or major health issues. I do my best to support them, knowing that "they are where they live."

The vibrations in there home can be improved, or raised using a number of techniques, including space clearing and blessings (which get right to the point!), rearranging their spaces, sourcing and remedying geopathic stress or EMFs, and/or the addition of certain objects that will help bring more harmony into their homes. In addition, I provide personality assessments based on birth date information that many of my clients find very helpful to get insights into family or spousal relationships.

In short, I help my clients regain their spiritual center in their homes and their physical, emotional and spiritual lives.

¹ Vibrational medicine is a discipline that asserts we our body, mind, and spirit are all connected and that we have energy or vibrations that emanate from our physical bodies. Our well being is reflected in those vibrations. Medical intuitives can "read" our energy and therefore, our health.
